Compact Parabolic antenna: Oxford Space Systems was approached to evaluate the adaptation and transfer of our space technology to terrestrial deployable antenna applications. We have carried out a feasibility study into the scalability of the Hinged Rib antenna to a 1.5m diameter parabolic antenna that provides a lightweight, stowage efficient and fast deploying solution for ground operations.
Hold Down and Release Mechanisms: HDRMs designed by Oxford Space Systems were launched on OHB LuxSpace's microsatellite ESAIL, built under an ESA Partnership Project with the Canadian operator exactEarth. The cup cone and bolt catcher style mechanisms were successfully activated to allow deployment of the satellite's solar panels and OSS is proud to have gained heritage for another unique piece of innovative space hardware.
